According to Wade, a much better and safer approach is a mixture of base salary - derived from major national surveys - and an at-risk component based on RVUs.

Michael Porter, writing in the New England Journal of Medicine, proposes "A Strategy For Health Care Reform - Toward A Value-Based System."
